5 Tips for Making a Blog “Popular”
I was recently at PubCon listening to a panel called “5 Bloggers and a Microphone.” Some great people on that panel. They were lacking good questions though, so I asked my friends on Twitter if they had any questions. I got one good one out of the bunch. So here are the Top 5 Tips (a few more bonus tips too) to making a blog popular.
- Barry Schwartz – Be on a specific schedule.
- Lee Odden – resource pages seem to be the most popular pages
- RSS and blog directories
- Be passionate
- Michael MacDonald – Be passionate and consistent
- Jane Copland – Throw in something really silly aka Google One Box post on SEOmoz and use pictures
- Andy Beal – Focus on the title of the post
- Make it scandalous but SE friendly
- Blend Keywords and Interest
- Be cryptic
- Write a follow up post on what goes popular
- Capitalize on old posts that get popular
