Raven PubCon Shirt Giveaway
Pubcon is always a great time. This year was no different – staying up until the sun comes up, crazy antics, and the best SEM information in one place. This year’s PubCon was sponsored by Raven Tools – a tool that I use and talk about regularly. I am a fan of their product and their whole team.

Raven Team
A few weeks before PubCon, Jon Henshaw sent me the coolest shirt ever. I had the honor of getting a limited edition PubCon shirt before everyone else. I was stoked. Raven shirts are awesome. This one was much more so. They are always really comfortable and well designed.

Raven PubCon Design
Note the name of the designer. None other than Jon’s wife, Kathryn (awesome name spelling btw).
The issue with these shirts is that Raven didn’t make many. They ran out fast once they started giving them away, but I have a surprise. I have an extra one.
How to Win a Limited Edition Raven Tools PubCon Shirt
So it’s the guys shirt (read: Green) in XL. Sorry you don’t get to choose the size. This was a bonus shirt that was magically left over.
So to win the shirt, you need to comment on this post or write a blog post about what about Raven Tools is your favorite. Anything. My favorite comment or blog post will win. Don’t have a favorite because you aren’t using Raven? Umm, free 30 day trial much?
I’ll mail you the shirt and if you send me a pic, I’ll post it here. You have until Thanksgiving, November 26, 2009.

My favorite Raven Tool feature is the Link Manager tool because it helps me keep track of all of my link building efforts. I like that it imports my inbound links so I don’t have to put them all in manually. But…
I wish it had a feature that let me know when a link was lost. Just an alert that sent me an email saying “You have lost a link from http://www….” would be perfect.
Of course, they’d have to ignore blog home pages and archive pages (since those links are by nature transient) and would have to only count sitewide links once (so I don’t get 300 emails because one sidebar link was taken down).
Many times a site will go through a redesign and the webmaster/designer forgets to add all of the old links back to the sidebar or links page. Or maybe you traded/purchased a link and the jerk takes it down when he/she think you aren’t looking.
Other than that, Raven tools is da-shizzle fa-rizzle. Do I get extra credit for suggesting a feature?
If you have noticed this notice you will have noticed that this notice is not worth noticing – Free shirt FTW.
Want.
@Everett – If you check link monitoring in the link manager in Raven the system will notify you of any changes to that link. This includes active status, page rank change, anchor text changes, nofollow > dofollow vice-versa.
Depending on your notification settings the system will email you or give a notice in your inbox.
Matt,
Thanks for the head’s up. Is that a new feature? When Jon gave me the demo a few months back I don’t think he mentioned that.
I’ll log into my account tomorrow and check it out. I wonder though – does it notify you of changes to links that go off the blog home page and into the archives? Maybe if I can select which links to monitor and which to ignore that would do the trick.
Anyway checking it out in the morning. Thanks for the reply.
Honestly, one of my favorite aspects of Raven is probably their GUI and how easy it is to manage and track keywords (the simple things). Raven makes it so easy to research a competitor (Research Assistant) and see what terms they are targeting. From there you can do some analysis on their ranking keywords (position, number of results, aprox CPC) and add them to your profile with a single click. Raven has done a great job of making the interface easy to use and manage for multiple campaigns. I also like the fact that they continue to build it out and take user feedback seriously.
On a side note…I wear an XL and wear it well…
UberVU, MadHat, Szetela, Matt, Sizemore and anyone who posts after me all I have to say about the comparison of style between us sporting a pubcon shirt is right here…

Brian … Okay, the link is fantastic. I will give you that so far.
I love Raven. That is a fact. I also love tools, not being one. I need this shirt so I can stop looking like a tool.
Here is my desperate plea to you:
