Warning: This is entirely a personal post, but if you live in the Austin area and interested in a personal trainer, keep reading. Or if you're just curious about the randomness of my life. There is a new face in the Austin Personal Training scene, and he happens to be my brother. Brian Morris just finished his certification from PFTA here in Austin. He will soon be starting as a personal trainer on some lucky gym's staff, but is also looking ...

This is the first year I decided to join in on the Livestrong Challenge. I lost a friend to cancer last year and have another fighting it currently. Then a friend on Twitter announced his battle and in the same week I learned that my grandmother's was back. The list gets longer each week, month, and year. I have been blessed thus far to not have it, and so I am dedicated to do what I can to help those that do. Running has become a love of ...

I have been noticing a trend on my twitter account @katemorris. I get new followers on a fairly regular basis, but most are spam, so I don't pay the emails any mind. So why not turn off the notification emails you ask? Do I just like to see my follower number go up? Nope. (No really!) There are sometimes that people/businesses follow me that I know and want to follow when I see their names. Just the other day, someone I thought I was ...

I am a Texas girl. Born and raised. I am a liberal for the most part. I vote fairly regularly. But I really don't get into the depths of politics. That is until it meets the SEO world. And today it did. I got a call from the Austin American Statesman wanting to know my opinion on a site supposedly put up by the Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson campaign called http://www.standbykay.com My first reaction? Guess I can throw some info together. :) If you have specific questions, comment and I'll answer!! If I need to I'll add it to the post. Needed at PubCon South Business Cards (a must, kinda late to order, but you can always do one day turnaround and ...

I am done! I didn't finish faster than last year like I wanted to, but I didn't end up training and running the race on full either. Let me explain. Two weeks before the race I injured my left instep. I don't think it was training alone, but rather training followed by 3-inch heels. Yes, I know. I learned. No heels while training. So I lost a week of training. :( Follow that up with the big kicker: I sprained my left ankle about 2 miles from ...

It's almost ... well it is official. AustinSEM.org has launched, but just with a temporary site. We'll be looking for a better place to host and a great designer to help us with the site. For now, it totally works. Please stop by if you're an Austin SEM and sign up. We have some great things coming up and want to get together with as many Austin SEO, SEMs, etc as possible. You do have to be working in the industry though. We will soon start ...

Austin SEO Meetup

It was probably smaller than it could have been, but the Meetup was only for about 35 people. I'd say we had about 20-25 there. Everything from internet marketers from communities outside Austin to CEOs of major SEM and Analytics firms. Most people were there to learn. Some to connect with possible partners. I had one request to give a Top 10 SEO and SEM Myths list. I have seen tons, but that list changes depending on what you know. So I'll ...
