The problem with SEO's that produce great content is that when I find one of their articles (this one), something else on their blog almost always catches my eye (i.e. 17 Day Diet for SEOs) which leads to the rest of my afternoon spent reading through archived SEO wisdom. Darn you Ms. Morris for being such a helpful, interesting writer!

I wasn't even looking for good SEO reading, just needed some great local Austinite tips to cite in our new Austin city guide, haha.

What are "ARC" charges? It appears that this is a "made up" charge that allows XO to put more money into their pocket. I cannot find any authority for this charge. They say it is based upon a mandated tariff by the PUC-but I can't find the tariff issued by the PUC that permits this charge. And to make things even more one sided, if i want to sue XO for overcharging, there is a clause in their contract that only allows the lawsuit to be filed in the state of Virginia. Not very convenient for non-Virginia state customers! I wonder if the Virginia customers contract states that if they want to bring a lawsuit against XO, they can only file it in California.

I was googling Kate Morris (a different one I suspect) when I came across this and it made my night. "The Panda made me do it" could be a good excuse in my house.

But then I followed the link and realized you were talking about those ugly black-and-white beasts and I lost my mirth.

Oh well.

Thank you for sharing!

Companies like XO Communications make big money from people ignorance. They WANT to make it impossible for both customers and the developers they hire to properly optimize a website. It's all about squeezing out every dime possible from their clients, and shutting out the competition; SEO firms and web developers.

I never like sharing photos like this unless I know the person who originally posted it intended for people to share it. So I've done some searching and am surprised I can't find the original. It may be because everyone is taking the blame on letting the dogs out. ;-) But, as you suggested, it should have shown up in Google's image search.

The image is out of Facebook. I received it in a Google+ post.

So now this photo really has me curious. I'd love to know if you ever find the original poster.

Hi. Thanks. It's amazing that they have never fixed this issue.
As for HostGator, I've never had any issues with them and smaller sites, but not sure about higher volume. I've never needed to talk to them yet, which is good in my book. :)
